Kebab Joint

Great place to grab a hot meal. The kebabs and the meal options are very well laid out. The breads are one of the freshest that we’ve had around the area. The Pita bread that we had was warm, soft and had a nice texture to it. The chicken kebab was succulent, fulfilling and had a great taste. Would’ve been better if they offer 3 sauces instead of 2. The meal pack was huge. Had a salad, rice, pita bread, meat and 2 dips. Have to say, both the dips were delicious. We had the pumpkin and the chilli. We also had a dip take away and it was a good decision at the 2 dips with the meal were not enough in the end.

In our hunt for the best HSP in town me and my daughter came across the Kebab joint at the Springvale road and Princess Hwy junction. Place was huge with plenty of dining space large kitchen, coffee machine and a couple of chill out couches at the front and few outdoor tables. It was so big almost looked empty. We ordered a small mixed HSP and a small chicken HSP for $15 each. Meat was great, chips were good, perhaps a bit soggy. But we really enjoyed the meal. Would love to try the variety of Pides on their menu next time.

I used to love this place, but it gets worse with every visit. Not only have the portion sizes shrunk to the point where the dishes are no longer filling (look at photos of their food from a few years back vs the more recent ones, the drop in quality/quantity is HUGE), the ingredients are no longer fresh and they frequently "forget" items when delivering. I'd all but given up on their kebabs and HSPs, then the chips and pides, but would still buy their desserts from time to time. A few nights ago I ordered the Toblerone cheesecake, but was given a different cheesecake despite the fact I'd specifically requested NO substitute if it wasn't available (this isn't the first time they've done this) because I don't want to pay for something I don't like. But the real kicker here is - the cake was off. The cheese had gone (very noticeably) sour/curdled, the berry coulis was bitter and the base tasted like rancid butter. Sadly, there's no longer a single thing worth eating here. I really don't know what happened to this place, the food used be delicious.
